Thomas Bauschert is Full Professor and head of the Chair for Communication Networks at TU Chemnitz, Germany. His key research areas are new network architectures and design concepts in the context of software defined networking and network functions virtualization, network planning, traffic engineering, and techno-economic analysis of communication networks.
Eric Wong is an Associate Professor in the Electronic Engineering Department at the City University of Hong Kong. His research interests include analysis and design of telecommunications and computer networks, energy-efficient data center design, green cellular networks and optical switching.
Short Description of the area
We solicits new research results on the area of network design and
optimization. The process of network planning and optimization plays an
important role in enabling a network operator to meet the ever-increasing
demands of the users. Through such process, operators can optimize scarce
resources and improve the QoS to the users. A planned and optimized network is
expected to be able to increase network availability and efficiency, increase
user satisfaction and reduce operational costs. Within this scope, we invite
the submission of papers that cover new developments in network models, network
analysis and design, green networking, network migration planning,
techno-economic (CAPEX and OPEX) analysis, and other related creative
endeavors.
