From Brussels National Airport (Zaventem) to Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station
Ghent is only 45 minutes from the international airport of Zaventem 'Brussels Airport', where flights arrive from and depart to more than 70 destinations. On the lowest level you will find the airport’s own railway station, Brussel-Nationaal-Luchthaven, accessible by lift and escalator from the arrivals hall. There are several connections to Ghent every hour.  You can either take a direct train to the Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station, or first travel to Brussel-Zuid (Bruxelles-Midi) and transfer to a direct train there.  For a detailed and up-to-date train schedule, please check the website of the Belgian rail provider NMBS.  Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport to Ghent, which costs 105 euro. Booking a shuttle in advance can be done online through the City Airport Taxis service.

From Brussels South Charleroi Airport to Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station
Brussels South/Charleroi airport is 70 minutes from Ghent. There is a bus connection from the airport to the Brussel-Zuid (Bruxelles-Midi) railway station every 30 minutes. From there frequent train connections to Ghent are available. There are also bus connections from the airport to Charleroi-Sud railway station. Trains for Ghent can also be boarded there. A ticket that combines the bus and train services can be purchased at the Airport Ticket Desk.  For a detailed and up-to-date train schedule, please check the website of the Belgian rail provider NMBS. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport to Ghent, which costs 150 euro.

From Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station to the city centre
Tram line 1 will take you directly to the city center (direction Evergem Brielken).  A tram leaves every 5 to 10 minutes from tram/bus platform 2 (to left of the main entrance of the railway station).  For detailed tram and bus schedules please check the website of De Lijn. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the train station to to the city centre, which costs about 8 euro.
