Student Travel Grants
Overview
The International Advisory Committee (IAC) of the International Teletraffic Congress has decided to offer a number of travel grants that will be available to support students for attending ITC 2012. The amount of each grant is US$750.00 that can be used to cover student travel expenses related to attending ITC 2012 conference, such as student registration fee, airline ticket, and hotel accommodation expenses.
Selection Criteria and Process
* The applicant must be a full-time student.
* Preference will be given to doctoral students.
* Some grants are especially reserved for students who are non-authors.
* Student authors may apply, but preference will be given to non-authors.
* A committee consisting of Luigi Fratta and Ulf Korner will evaluate the applications and select the grant recipients.
Application Process
The application from the student should state why he/she wants to attend ITC 2012 and how would he/she benefit from ITC 2012. This description should be kept to a page maximum. Use EDAS's upload function to submit this statement. The student must also submit a reference (preferably from his/her advisor) stating that the student is a PhD Candidate in good standing and that ITC 2012 covers the research areas of the student.
Applications should be submitted through EDAS.
Important dates
* Application submission: June 24, 2012.
* Decisions/notification: July 8, 2012
* Acceptance by the recipient: July 15, 2012 (Conference registration must be completed)
Please note that there are a specific Japanese Student Travel Grant from ITC Japan and a Travel Grant for Canadian Students, ITC-24 Commemorative Travel Grant, which are also conditionally available.
