ITC 2012 Call for Tutorial Proposals

Telecommunications is the major enabler of the Information Society in the 21st Century. Over the years, the International Teletraffic Congress (ITC) has broaden its scope to address a wide spectrum of issues associated with all types of current and future networks ranging from the mathematical theory of traffic processes, stochastic system modeling and analysis, traffic and performance measurements, network management, traffic engineering to network capacity planning and cost optimization, including network economics and reliability. These issues are addressed by applying a variety of tools from different fields, such as Stochastic Processes, Information theory, Control theory, Signal and Processing, Game theory and Optimization techniques, Statistical methodologies and Artificial Intelligence techniques, and so on. The general goal of ITC remains to bring researchers and practitioners together towards operational understanding of all types of current and future networks, guaranteeing a well-balanced contribution from theory, application, and practice.

The scope of the ITC is broadening as its target of the networked systems is expanding: the various types of fixed and/or mobile networks such as future Internet, the next-generation of mobile networks including LTE/LTE-advanced networks, self-organizing networks and emerging data-center networks, as well as trends like data centric networking, network virtualization, cloud computing, etc.

The organizing committee of the ITC 2012 invite proposals for the tutorials to be held on September 7, 2012 in Krakow, Poland, in conjunction with the main technical program of the ITC 2012 conference (https://archive.itc-conference.org/itc24/). The researchers and practitioners interested in giving tutorials at ITC 2012 are invited to submit tutorial proposals.

Tutorial Proposal Submission Guidelines

To propose a tutorial in ITC 2012, please submit a tutorial proposal including the following information:

  • Title of the tutorial;
  • Name, title, affiliation, address, and a short CV (up to 200 words) of the instructor(s);
  • A short summary (up to 1 page) of the tutorial proposal emphasizing its timeliness;
  • Outlines of topics to be covered;
  • Preferred length of tutorial (3 hours);
  • If appropriate, a description of past tutorials, including number of attendees, etc.

  • Tutorial acceptance notification: April 15, 2012
  • Tutorial slides due:   July 8, 2012
  • Tutorial presentations:   September 7, 2012
