Lorenzo Casaccia
Lorenzo has been at the forefront of wireless technology and innovation for over 15 years. He joined Qualcomm in 2000 and has been with the company since then, covering a variety of roles related to wireless communication, including research and system design, government affairs, product management and technical standardization. He currently leads a team of engineers across three continents driving Qualcomm’s activities in 3GPP, the standards body designing technologies for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. Lorenzo holds university degrees in Electrical Engineering from Turin Polytechnic, in Telecommunication from the Eurecom Institute, France, and in Philosophy from Rome University. He is the author or co-author of over 50 approved patents.
Yunpeng Zang
Dr.-Ing. Yunpeng Zang is Senior Researcher at Ericsson Eurolab, Germany. His research interests include Intelligent Transport System (ITS), vehicular communication technologies, and radio communication protocol design and performance evaluation. He is currently involved in Ericsson’s research and standardization activities on V2X communication. He received his PhD degree (Dr.-Ing.) from RWTH Aachen University, Germany
Hermann Brand
Hermann Brand received his PhD from the Technical University of Vienna. He started his professional carrier as a SW developer and system designer in telecommunications. He worked as a researcher in the semiconductor industry and managed several international R&D teams in mobile communications including researchers, system engineers and delegates to different standards developing organizations. While his employer evolved into a diversified IT service provider, Dr Brand also worked as technology manager, innovation manager and business developer. He joined ETSI in 2008. Until 2012 he was responsible for various institutional services of ETSI, including new initiatives, partnership management, membership care, and meeting support. Since 2012, as Director Innovation, he has worked closely with members and other stakeholders to setup new standardization committees/groups, in particular ISGs. In June 2017 Dr Brand joined IEEE as European Standards Affairs Director.
Ultan Mulligan
Mr. Ultan Mulligan is Director of Innovation and Director of Communications at ETSI, and until recently was vice-chairman of the Marketing and Communications committee in the oneM2M Partnership Project – a joint collaboration between ETSI and 5 other ICT standards bodies across the globe. Previously responsible for Strategy and New Initiatives, developing new standardisation or pre-standardisation activities at ETSI including establishing ETSI’s first Industry Specification Groups, he has also managed OSA/Parlay API standardisation activities for ETSI. In ETSI’s Protocol and Testing Competence Centre he has managed specification and testing projects on numerous technologies. Besides ETSI, he has participated in many standards bodies including oneM2M, 3GPP, ITU-T, CEN, and groups such as Bluetooth SIG and Parlay.
Mr Mulligan has a B. Eng. from Dublin City University and an Executive MBA from the ESCP-EAP in Paris.
