Workshop on End-to-end Green Cellular Networks

Friday, September 12, 2014, 09:00-12:30

A desire for improved mobile services is increasing rapidly around the globe. Fast evolution of wireless communications has experienced uses of heterogeneous networks and smaller and smaller cells. In addition, telecommunications industry is growing fast in emerging markets where the reliability of electricity grids is becoming a critical problem for operators. As there will be many more telecom products in use with widely varying requirements and environments, both energy efficiency and environmental impact of telecom equipment need to be considered and optimized carefully together with new solutions such as the use of renewable energy. Optimized solutions are also required for cooling and power amplifier technologies that are critical components in terms of energy efficiency. Many topics from research, development and standardization are welcome to the workshop enabling fruitful discussions and a great possibility for cross-disciplinary innovations and technologies.
