How to get Karlskrona: Although Karlskrona is definitely less in the center of Sweden than many other Swedish cities, it is well accessible from the outside. Here are a couple of options on how to get to Karlskrona:

By air:

The possibly most efficient way is to fly to the major European hub Copenhagen airport (Kastrup, IATA code: CPH).
At Copenhagen airport you will find the ITC26 Arrival Service.

Options for transfer to Karlskrona (240 km) are as follows:

  • by direct train (see below);
  • by rental car (see below);
  • by taxi or airport shuttle: upon request, please contact itc26

The closest airport is Ronneby/Karlskrona airport (Kallinge, RNB) with up to nine daily flights pairs from Stockholm (either Arlanda, ARL, or Bromma, BMA) by SAS or Blekingeflyg. Connections to Karlskrona (30 km):

  • by airport bus, departing 10 min after arrival (see also time tables for arrivals with SAS or Blekingeflyg), price 90 SEK.
  • by taxi: We recommend to pre-order a shared flight taxi price for 422 SEK with guaranteed connection (regular price: 600-700 SEK).

By train:

From Copenhagen (Central Station or Kastrup airport), the Öresund-train (Öresundståg) reaches Karlskrona directly, i.e. no change required.

  • Departures from Kastrup from 06:06 to 21:06 on weekdays (every hour at hh:06) / from 07:06 to 21:06 during week-ends (every hour or bi-hourly).
  • Price per one-way trip: 327 SEK (2:nd class), 417 SEK (1:st class, highly recommended during rush hours).
  • See http://www.oresundstag.se/en/Start/ for timetable and ticket sales (in Swedish). We recommend to buy the ticket from the red-grey Skånetrafikens vending machines below the big clock in the arrival hall.

By car:

From Copenhagen:

  • Major car rental companies have their offices to the left of the exit from customs.
  • Take the E20 towards Malmö (Sweden) via the Öresund-Bridge (one-way passage: 435 SEK for an ordinary car), and switch to E22 towards Kalmar/Karlskrona. Distance: 240 km, duration: 2:45.

By ferry:

Fron Gdynia, Poland, you can travel with Stena Line. You can travel a day cruise or a night cruise. Prices and schedules see Stena Line.
